Hollow fiber membrane module
The hollow fiber membrane modules of DAICEN MEMBRANE-SYSTEMS Ltd. are UF membrane module products (ultrafiltration spectrum). With an optimal balance of good treatment performance and ease in handling, these modules are used in various applications such as water purification plants and manufacturing processes. Cross flow filtration allows for not only filtration and separation but also purification and concentration of feed water.
Mechanism
A module is packed with thousands to tens of thousands of thin straw-shaped separation membranes with an inner diameter of approximately 0.4 to 1.4 mm. Each hollow fiber membrane has a skin layer with fine pore diameters on its surface, which separates the target materials according to their molecular sizes.
These modules mainly use the internal pressure method, which supplies feed water inside the hollow fiber, as well as the cross flow filtration method, which prevents contamination from accumulating on the membranes.
Cross flow filtration method
Operation method that flows feed water parallel to the membrane surface. Since a scraping effect of water flow is obtained, contamination is less likely to accumulate. On the other hand, in dead end filtration method where the feed water flows through the membrane perpendicular to the membrane surface, the membrane becomes clogged quickly.

Cellulose acetate (CA)
- Highly hydrophilic membrane material derived from nature

- Membrane material with high heat resistance, chemical resistance, and water permeability
- Extensive product lineup of molecular weight cut-offs
- Used in various manufacturing processes such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and food products
Polyacrylonitrile (PAN)
- Membrane material with low protein adsorption characteristics
- Used in enzyme separation and protein processing
