Features

  • One-step refining and concentration by diafiltration

    Diafiltration (DF) is a method, which makes low-molecular-weight substances continuously permeate through a membrane by adding the same amount of liquid (solvent) as the amount of permeating liquid to the undiluted solution tank. The main applications of DF include high-purity refining of high molecular substances, desalination, and pure water replacement, etc.

    We use this technology in our membrane separation technique to provide automated and efficient refining systems. By using ultrafiltration membranes (UF membranes), salts and ionized substances are discharged to the permeate side. Meanwhile, large-sized target substances that do not permeate through the UF membranes can increase their purity.

    Systematizing the DF method with separation membranes allows for the seamless transition from refining to concentration processes within a single system after the refining of the undiluted solution is completed, thereby improving the efficiency throughout the entire manufacturing process.

Treatment example

In recent years, with the growing prevalence of electronic devices, the demand for and the production of conductive polymers used in antistatic agents and capacitors have increased. Our own refining technology using thick hollow fiber membranes realizes highly efficient desalination for polymer solutions. Our membrane-based refining method has no risk of thermal denaturation and helps realize a high-quality production system.
