Power saving and CO2emissions reduction

Contributes to CO2 emissions reduction through energy conservation and power saving effects

Energy conservation and power saving achieved through the use of separation membranes reduces power consumption at facilities, resulting in substantially suppressing CO2 emissions generated during power generation
Energy conservation contributes to companies’ efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and environmental impact

Energy conservation and CO2 emissions reduction have emerged as key challenges for companies

Corporate social responsibility is becoming more important as environmental awareness grows. In Japan, which relies on imports for most of its energy, energy efficiency is especially important. Cost reductions achieved through energy-saving measures enhance the competitiveness of companies. In addition, reducing electricity consumption also leads to a substantial reduction in CO2 emissions generated during power generation. The Japanese government has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net-zero by 2050. Eco-friendly initiatives are also factors in enhancing corporate brand value as the number of environmentally conscious consumers continues to increase.

We believe that the use of separation membranes can help reduce such environmental impact. Thus, we are working on energy conservation and CO2 emissions reduction through a variety of products.

What can be done through energy conservation and CO2 emissions reduction

  • Realizing sustainable processes with a membrane method without phase change

Separation membrane treatment can be performed by only depending on the supply pressure of the pump. It can be expected to reduce power required for heating, CO2 emissions, and chemical usage.

Realizing sustainable processes with a membrane method without phase change

Separation membrane treatment can be performed by only depending on the pump operation, and therefore does not need phase change. In the processes of concentration and separation, this membrane method realizes greater energy-saving compared to conventional vaporization methods.

As a pretreatment for vaporization, concentration through the separation membranes can also be applied, potentially reducing the time required for vaporization. The effect differs depending on the target liquid. Our evaluation test is available to confirm the advantages.

View product information

●Vaporization method
Requires heating + cooling + fan/pump power

Vaporization is a separation method that uses differences in boiling points of the components to separate those that vaporize and those that do not.

●Membrane separation method
Basically the pump power only

A separation method that uses a separation membrane which has a filtration that allows substances smaller than the membrane pores to pass through the membrane. Treatment is performed by only depending on the supply pressure of the water pump.

    Effect estimation services are available

You can carefully evaluate whether the expected benefits are achievable before making a decision.

    ■ Membrane module

Since the effects vary depending on the target solution, the treatment efficiency of separation membranes can be confirmed by evaluation testing. We can also propose a treatment flow based on the test results.
