Solution
Wastewater treatment, human wastes, and recycled water
Contributing to sewage and waste water treatment with separation membranes and diffusers
Realizing not only a reduction in environmental impact but also a reduction in industrial waste and the reuse of treated water
Separation membranes in the field of waste water treatment
Waste water treatment plays a critical role in environmental protection and public health maintenance. In addition to protecting the ecosystem by preventing the outflow of harmful substances into rivers and oceans, removing pathogenic bacteria and harmful chemical substances in waste water prevents the spread of infectious diseases that threaten human health to ensure the safety of local communities.
Waste water treatment using separation membranes effectively removes impurities by using a membrane characteristic of selectively permeating certain substances depending on their size (molecular weight). This characteristic also enables the concentration of necessary components, facilitating the recovery of valuable substances and the reuse of water.
Accordingly, the use of a separation membrane is a highly effective and sustainable option for waste water treatment, playing a key role in environmental protection and reuse of resources.
What separation membranes can do
-
01
Reduction in environmental impact
- Preventing water pollution by meeting effluent standards for discharge
-
02
Cost reduction
- Simplifying the treatment process compared with sedimentation

Features of waste water treatment system with separation membranes
-
Separating substances without using chemicals
This feature reduces the environmental impact by adding chemicals and makes the treatment process safer.
-
Allowing for space-saving operation
With its compact design and minimal space requirements, the separation membrane system is well-suited for operation in limited spaces such as urban areas and factories.
-
Energy-saving and highly sustainable treatment method
This method consumes less energy than conventional treatment methods such as evaporative concentrations, resulting in efficient operation.
-
Easy operation
Separation membrane systems can be automated, allowing for easy operation and relatively simple periodic maintenance.

Recycling of water in addition to post-treatment |
Separation membranes are used not only as standalone units, but also in combination with different modules to realize the required water quality. In addition, depending on the components contained in the feed water, the optimum separation membrane shape or molecular weight cut-off differs. We conduct evaluation tests to select products that meet customer requirements.
Treatment example
Disposal cost reduction by concentration of industrial waste water
Industrial waste water treated with the membrane module
meets the effluent standards for discharge into rivers or sewage. This reduces the amount of industrial waste to be treated as industrial waste disposal, leading to lower disposal costs.
Recycling and reuse of plant process waste water by filtration
It is possible to improve the quality of treated water by adding a membrane treatment process to the industrial process water treatment system. In particular, since RO membranes can separate even ionized substances, these modules can perform even more advanced treatment than UF membrane modules. In some cases, the treated water can be used as recycled water substituting for reclaimed water or manufacturing water. *Recycling may be difficult depending on the conditions of the feed water (waste water).
Recovery of valuable substances in the manufacturing process
Valuable substances contained in waste water are separated by membrane treatment and collected by concentration. Recovery of valuable substances can be returned to the production line or sold separately, resulting in effective practical use. In some cases, treated water can be reused as manufacturing water* depending on the quality of the water, to make maximum use of waste water. Hollow fiber membrane modules have been used for this purpose.
*Recycling of the treated water may be difficult depending on the conditions of the feed water (waste water).
